Thank you for volunteering!
The ground rules for field two at Welch part are pretty simple, all fences around the field are in play. This includes all fences behind the plate as well as in front of the dugouts. We do have netting above the fencing and as well as in the outfield, the netting are out of play. We have no restrictions as far as time ordinance and the lights will be on before the game(s) start.
There will be space saved for you behind the pressbox. The area will be coned off and will have signs directing you where you can park. Please ask a parking lot attendant from Windsor Little League should you have any questions.
When you pull into the complex, use the driveway to the left of the pool, follow the pathway down. You will first see the softball field followed by the baseball field on the right. Continue driving straight towards to the baseball field. The two-story pressbox is what you're looking for, parking will be saved to the rear.
Windsor Little League has graciously cleared out a storage shed for umpire use. It is located just past the concession stand, down the third-base line of the lighted Majors field, adjacent to the batting cages. Please feel free to use this area to change and store your equipment before and after your games.
Should there be any cancellations, we will notify everyone as soon as possible. Please keep in mind that advance notification will go out as soon as a decision is made and we will do everything in our best effort to make sure that you are kept up-to-date throughout the day.
Charcoal grey pants are required. Base umpires shall not wear ball bags. Plate umpires may wear any short brimmed hat, full hockey style mask, and/or skull cap as they prefer. Base umpires shall wear a black hat, either of a plain Little League branding or plain black hat. No district affilations should be worn.
Umpires may wear any color shirt/style as long as the crew matches.
Please plan on arriving to the field no later than 45-minutes prior to first pitch. If your crew requests you to show up earlier, please try to accomodate as best as possible.
